What is the Training Quality Standard?

The Training Quality Standard (TQS) is an assessment framework designed to reflect employers' priorities and expectations in sourcing training and development solutions, and recognise the practices of the organisations proven to be the best at delivering them. The TQS framework is built on an evidence base of employer needs and provider practice, deployed through established industry methods for the assessment of quality, capability and improvement. The framework defines what a provider should be doing rather than how, and asks organisations applying for assessment to tell their story from strategy, through approaches, to achievements.

The Standard is split into two parts:

  • Part A – Assesses the Applicant's responsiveness to the needs of employers as individual customers
  • Part B – Assesses the Applicant's responsiveness to a particular sector and how it develops and deploys products to address these sector needs

Part A is for all organisations delivering training and development solutions; Part B focuses on those areas where organisations have expertise, having already demonstrated their ability to serve employers through Part A.

TQS Publication

Advisory TQS Support from IBP

Following the recent decision not to continue with our Training Quality Standard (TQS) assessment services, IBP are pleased to announce that we will now be able to offer advisory support to those organisations considering or already working with TQS.

Our experience of working with the TQS framework and assessment process, together with our extensive knowledge of the training and education sector, means that we are able to provide a unique insight whilst helping you to achieve TQS certification.

We are currently in the process of putting together details of the programme of support we will be offering and further information on this will appear on this page very shortly.
