Staff Engagement Index incorporated into e-Survey tool

Employee Engagement is seen as a key driver of success and has never been more important  than in the current economic climate. CQL has devised a staff engagement index to measure these as a standard component of its e–Survey service. This provides quantitative feedback that is especially useful for benchmarking. It also provides trend analysis that can be used for evaluation of the investment in people at a strategic level and informs organisational development.

CQL will now include 8 questions within all our clients' surveys to allow us to build an engagement index for use as a benchmarking tool.  The questions are based on a study of 1 million people in 2005 (Towers Perrin Global Workforce Study, 2005 – UK data compendium) and the results will be especially helpful for evaluation and trend analysis.

e–Survey has been used by clients including McDonalds, Sainsburys, Thomas Cook, and Veolia. Anne Billson, Director of Human Resources and Development at Thomas Cook said "e–survey provided us with rich data about how our people feel and also how effective our leadership team is.  This information has helped inform a key part of our HR Strategy and ensures we're able to understand the views of people from different populations within our business."

The online reporting system includes a fully detailed heads up display, allowing the user to compare previous and current survey results on–line. This gives HR Managers a helicopter view of the whole as well as constituent parts of the company. The results and their implications to the company are available to be viewed online by the client immediately following completion of the survey period to ensure that action can be implemented as early as possible.

e–Survey is highly flexible and can be introduced to any organisation to gain clearer insights into internal strengths and weaknesses. Furthermore, the information gathered allows businesses to identify areas of growth and development, provide effective training and career development opportunities thereby creating a positive working environment in which its personnel are motivated as well as challenged.
